US FDA authorizes Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine

The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has authorized the emergency use of Pfizer and BioNTech's COVID-19 vaccine. The FDA said the vaccine, which was shown to be 95% effective in preventing the disease in a late-stage trial, can be given to people aged 16 and older. "It will save millions of lives," US President Donald Trump said.
