The two Chinese hackers indicted by the US for targeting global COVID-19 research were former classmates who studied computer technologies at an electrical engineering college in Sichuan, the US said. Li Xiaoyu and Dong Jiazhi stole trade secrets worth hundreds of millions of dollars, the indictment alleges. They also helped the Chinese government in stealing foreign military secrets, it added.
